Julia Ryan

Julia has worked as a professional, licensed NYC guide since the early 1990's. Her strengths lie not only in her impressive knowledge of the city, its history, inhabitants and current events, but also in her willingness to go the extra mile in customer service, good will and hard work. Her tours are funny, witty and personal - touring with Julia is always like getting a VIP experience - even for those in a large group. Her knowledge base is vast, and she customizes all walking and coach tours for clients'  individual needs -- but some specialities include the Immigrant Experience, Brooklyn Waterfront, Central Park, The High Line, Flatiron District, Wall Street, 9/11 Memorial and WTC, Alexander Hamilton, Photo Tours, Student Tours, Environmental Awareness Tours, Gardens of East Harlem and LES, VIP Shopping and Film Production/Advertising.

As a born and bred New Yorker,  Julia really knows her home town backwards and forwards, and loves to share it's secrets and special destinations with her clients. Julia has also worked as a tour manager and guide in Europe, Canada, and throughout the Eastern US.

In addition to being an expert private guide, I am an actor (Film & TV, Comedy)  and love to teach acting at an award winning theater company, The Barrow Group. My personal passions are: Theatre, Wine, Architecture, Botany, Dogs, Movies and Humor.
