GANYC was proud to represent New York at the biennial National Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (NFTGA), held the past few days in Philadelphia. The city will be celebrating 250 years of American independence next year, and we were so excited to see so many of the historic sites connected to that history.
We thank the organizers, and the great guides at the Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides (APT), for what was a wonderful conference.
We also congratulate the entire new NFTGA Board, including the new President, Jim Carr, and a new member at large, Gary Dennis, who are both members of GANYC.
In our time in Philadelphia, we had several great tours from Philly guides, and visits to historic locations such as Carpenters’ Hall. And some great conference presentations on topics like how AI could benefit tourism professionals, how to market yourself as a unique guide, a presentation on the Spanish influence on the American Revolution, on disability inclusion & awareness, and other great topics.
We look forward to the next conference, January 2027 in Salt Lake City!
